I do not like to get political on my blog…
Having lived in New York for almost ten years now, I feel a responsibility to share with everyone some of the neighborhoods that got hit the hardest by Hurricane Sandy.
I am not a photojournalist. When the opportunity arised to photograph the Lower East Side Blackout and Breezy Point, I felt a responsibility to use what I am good (as in being an artist) to help share with everyone what I saw.
Breezy Point looks like a war zone and the Lower East Side feels exactly like the term “Gotham”.
Please do what you can to donate clothes, water, food, anything to these people in need.
I will also say that I am proud of New Yorkers for sticking together through this, so far there has been no loitering. Just helping hands. It is truly amazing.
